Message from the Executive Head teacher
To Pupils, Parents and Carers
It’s a privilege to be the Executive Headteacher for the Federation of Stewart Headlam and Hague Primary Schools.
My aim is to nurture aspirations, raise standards and support ambition so that our children can thrive, progress and achieve their best outcomes.
Hague Primary in Bethnal Green and Stewart Headlam Primary in Whitechapel are friendly and welcoming in the heart of the East London community. Each school has a dedicated and caring staff whose energies are focused on providing the very best teaching, learning, experiences, opportunities and pastoral support for all pupils across the SHH Federation.
My role is to be the, strategic school leader working in partnership with the Heads of School, range of staff teams and governors to facilitate an ambitious world-class education which provides inspiration and equitable opportunity for all. It means tackling barriers to learning caused by disadvantage and inequality so that all children can be ambitious for their future. The learning goes beyond the classroom. We want children to know they can succeed because they have the necessary skills, attitudes and values to be a good person who contributes to school life and beyond. Our values led ethos is rights respecting so that our children learn to use their voice positively and for good social and environmental causes.
Teachers offer an ever developing, stimulating and engaging curriculum in an environment where pupils feel safe and happy, able to enjoy their learning and friendships. Our curriculum embeds knowledge, skills and values as well as building on each school’s traditions and customs. The Heads of School and I believe in transparent and trusting relationships between home and school. Good home school communication helps us to act in the best interests of all our children.

Yours sincerely

Message from The Head of School
Welcome to Hague School Website. We hope that you can use it to find information you need to know or simply to show off what’s happening to your family and friends. For new visitors we hope that it gives you a view to learning and life at Hague.
Hague is a successful one-form entry primary school, with a Deaf Provision for up to 16 pupils from 3-11 years. It serves a multicultural community in Bethnal Green, the heart of London’s East End. Pupils are at the heart of everything we do. We want everyone to enjoy learning, so every effort is made to ensure that the curriculum is relevant to our pupils and inspires them. Visitors to Hague often tell us how happy, hard-working and well behaved pupils are. We are very proud of them. They all make good and outstanding rates of progress as a result of great teaching and support for learning. We challenge pupils to achieve their best, develop, knowledge, skills and attitudes which will help them to become successful learners and develop long and lasting friendships.
We value parent support and look forward to working with you whilst your child or children are at Hague. We hope that your association with the school is a long and happy one. Should you require further information on any aspect of the school then please get in touch we will be pleased to help, especially if it concerns your child.
Yours sincerely
Sue Walsh
