Remembrance Day Collaboration ~Y1 and Y6

Year 6 and Year 1 shared their learning about Remembrance Day with each other. We discussed why we have it and what the poppies symbolise.

We used many different skills and demonstrated our knowledge of school values to make the poppies on display in the top hall.

We collaborated, working together in groups to support each others learning. Both Year 1 and 6 took on teacher roles whilst making different styles of poppies. The groups communicated effectively giving clear instructions for each other to follow.

We thought creatively and used many different ideas and resources to make lots of different poppies. We used our Design Technology skills – cutting, joining, sticking and twisting alongisde our Science learning studying plants.
